Beautiful French antique ceiling light suspension light in the Louis XVI style with large opaline glass shade in the form of a dome and gilded bronze trim of laurel wreaths and floral decoration with a large floral rosette to the bottom, made in the early 1900s.
Condition
overall in excellent condition for its age and oozing with character and style ,the gilding would benefit from a clean and polish and a little wear in places, the opaline shade has some tiny rust marks on it from the past where the 3 screws that hold it on have marked it,it may come off I prefer to leave as is,there are also a couple of tiny imperfections in the hand blown opaline shade.
The light for this beauty has a single screwed socket in the centre for an E27 screw thread bulb, the wiring is european 2 core and although shown lit up it would be very wise to have it checked over by a competent diy-er or electrician before hanging it in place.
