This is a luxurious complete tea and coffee service for 10 persons, consisting of ten pairs of cups and saucers, one large soup plate, a sugar bowl and a very spacious teapot. The service was produced and decorated at the Limoges manufactory La Violette, which operated from 1896 to 1905 in France. Richly decorated with delicate purple and gold decal floral patterns in the form of roses and chaotic splashes of the same colors, the shapes (handles and spout of the teapot, the circumference of cups and saucers) are also emphasized with gilding. The teapot and sugar bowl have very beautiful shapes and are really large. The green La Violette underglaze marking is present on only one plate item, but there is no doubt that all the items in this coffee service were part of a single dinner service from this brand. The cups are as light as eggshells. Overall the service is in good vintage condition, with the exception of two saucers: one of which has a barely noticeable chip of 1x1 mm, on the bottom of the other saucer and on the bottom of one of the cups there is a small craquelure in the glaze (see photos 8, 9, 10). The price was set based on these subtle losses.
